DSS sees red

"It turned out to be quite phenomenal to see that so many young people are very enthusiastic about donating blood"

Enthusiasm bubbled within the Drakensberg Secondary School learners on Thursday as they made their way to the blood donor clinic, which was hosted at the school.

New and regular donors set off to fill in the lifestyle questionnaire, get their personal details checked or registered, have their iron and blood pressure tested and soon they were settled down and donating a pint of life-saving plasma.

77 learners attended the clinic, 67 pints were donated, with a massive 41 new donors, well done!

“It turned out to be quite phenomenal to see that so many young people are very enthusiastic about donating blood. They had the opportunity to have educational lessons about being a safe blood donor,” commented Blood Donor Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain.
