Vryheid High School – Love in the air at VHS

All of the VHS swimmers who swam the Midmar Mile completed the race successfully. K Kohlmeyer, A Kohlmeyer and K Verschuuren swam the 8-Miler and earned gold medals. Congratulations to all these swimmers.

LAST week we reported that VHS athletes participated in the Filidi Circuit Athletics Meeting on February 6.

Here are the best results of the day: Girls u/19: B Mthembu High Jump 1st, S Henning Discus 1st, Shot Put 1st. Girls u/17: Z Xulu 800m 1st, C Jansen Van Vuuren Discus 1st, M Niebuhr Long Jump 1st, S Taylor 1500m 1st. Girls u/15: D Swart Shot Put 1st, M Meyer High Jump 1st, M Hibbert Discus 1st. Boys u/17: N Dlamini 100m 1st, A Niebuhr Javelin 1st, N Nyawo 100m Hurdles 1st.

On February 11, VHS celebrated Valentine’s Day with many roses being handed out to friends and girl/boyfriends. The evening was the customary Valentine’s Dance where all had the opportunity to dance, enjoy themselves and confess their ‘everlasting, undying love for each other!’
