Huttenpark Primary School will be hosting its annual Soapbox Derby on the school grounds on Friday, February 26.
Pupils aged from 5 to 18 may participate.
There will also be an adult race where parents can compete against teachers from Huttenpark and Ferrum schools.
The derby entails pupils completing as many laps as possible around a track in a given time.
In an attempt to raise the stakes and make this event exceptionally exciting, the Grade 4 to 7 track will have a bridge and tunnel as part of the challenge.
Car exhibitions from a select group of motor vehicle manufacturers will also make an appearance to tie into this year’s theme of automobiles.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and be part of this joyous atmosphere.
Food stalls will cater for the appetites and spectators can look forward to a nail-biting finish and loads of fun.
