For four weeks, two families in Forderville‘s 14th Street have been living with an incessant water leak.
The leak seems to be flowing from underground and according to one of the residents, had been a problem previously, which was reported and repaired by Uthukela District Municipality.
But this time, the residents have been waiting on the district municipality for a month. Speaking to an Estcourt News reporter on condition of anonymity, one of the residents said that despite reporting the leak to the local and district municipality, they have not received a favourable response, which prompted them to have their concerns published in the newspaper.
The resident is apprehensive that the constant leak will cause damage to the boundary wall as well as the yard and with youngsters playing around; the health risk is also unavoidable. “I hope that the municipality would help.
“This leak is going on for four weeks,” concluded the resident. Uthukela District Municipality was alerted of this water leak.
