DJS atlete het die afgelope naweek deelgeneem aan die USASA KZN Atletiekbyeenkoms in Durban. Hulle het 12 Medaljes in totaal verower – 5 goud, 3 silwer en 4 brons. Puik prestasie. Baie geluk.
Susan Gregory: D -/11, goud in gewigstoot, Ntokozo Gumede: G -/12, bronze in shot put, Willem Coetzee: S -/12, silwer in hoogspring en brons in disku. Siphesihle Manyoni: G -/13, bronze in javelin, Asanda Thungo: G -/13, gold in 100m and long jump, silver in 200m, Estiaan Botes: S -/13, goud in spiesgooi, brons in hoogspring, Mundell Brown: S -/13, silwer in diskus en Henk Zaal:S -/13, goud in diskus.
Gr 4 Museum Day at DJS
Grade 4 learners of DJS held a Museum Day on March 3 as part of their Social Science curriculum. Learners had to bring old items from home and display it in the school hall after researching the item and its use. Learners and parents enjoyed this nostalgic morning thoroughly as young and old were reminded of how quickly time flies.
Chess
On March 4, 10 learners went to Huttenpark in Newcastle where five schools were involved in a chess workshop. Mr Lombard presented the workshop and training. The workshop presented showed the learners how to successfully do notations while they were playing a chess match. Three matches were played by each learner to allow them to practice their notation skills. Many interesting and new concepts were played by each learner.
