Volkies Adopt a Kid day a great success

Adopt a Kid is a culture that has evolved at Volksrust High School.

One day a year pupils and teachers get together to raise funds for the needy.

These people don’t always have what we take for granted daily, for example a sandwich at school, a pair of reading glasses, or a pair of school shoes.

A group of pupils raised R4 387 by baking and selling cupcakes and working together as a team. The total amount raised by the school was R14 971.40.

The school principal said the day was all about using the talents given to people to help and assist those in their time of need.

The school thanked everyone who helped, especially the community of Volksrust for making the day a huge success.
