JJ wins gold in 3km swim
He also participated in the 5km event, in which he placed fifth overall in a time of 1:10.09
JJ van der Hoogen from Ladysmith Marlins Swimming Club participated in the recent Swimming South Africa Senior National Open Water Tournament in Grabouw on March 5 and 6.
He performed extremely well in the 3km event and won a gold medal in the age group 19-31 with a winning time of 40:23.15. He also participated in the 5km event, in which he placed fifth overall in a time of 1:10.09.
As a silver medallist in the 2014-2015 swimming season, he is congratulated on this fantastic achievement.
The event saw young and old competing on different levels depending on their age.
