This morning at 6am, the first of the brave ultra-marathoners left from Bergville to complete the 52km race

A large group of people registered to take part in this year’s Bergville to Ladysmith Marathon, which includes the Khanyisile Fun-Run. The fun-run was held yesterday and started at 2pm at Settlers Park. Young and old took park, and everyone who completed the distance received medals.

This morning at 6am, the first of the brave ultra-marathoners left from Bergville to complete the 52km race, while the others prepared themselves for the 21km half-marathon which started just after 6am from Settlers Park.

The large group of runners left Settlers Park and began the journey towards the Bluebank road. Watering holes were set up along the route, where a variety of refreshments were offered to the runners.

Police, Sharaj Ambulance Services and Public Safety were also present to ensure that everything ran smoothly.
