Voters – Today (April 10) is your last chance to register to vote and to confirm your voter status.
The Newcastle Advertiser and the Northern Natal Courier have been contacted by residents who said that although they have been registered at the same voting station for many years, they no longer appear on the voting roll at their local station, even though they appear to be registered on the IEC website.
Other residents have reported that they are registered, but the residential address and voting area is incorrect.
Residents are urged to double check their registration status.
If your name is not on the voters roll, come August 3 (the date of the election) you will not be able to vote.
So use this weekend to check!
Voting stations are open on April 9 and 10 for registration from 8am to 5pm both days.
