Overgrown grass an eyesore and a danger
People are angry and scared for their children’s lives, as well as their own
Residents living in Bombay Road, Leonardsville, are fed up with the overgrown grass on a vacant piece of land in the area. Not only is this an eyesore, but they say it also poses a danger in the form of snakes and criminals hiding in the long grass.
People have phoned the municipality on numerous occasions, asking them to come and cut the grass. However, nothing has been done.
People are angry and scared for their children’s lives, as well as their own.
“What if we stumble on criminals engaged in shady activities? We could be killed for nothing. The grass provides a perfect spot for crooks to hide, plan burglaries or dump stolen goods. This is not good!” fumed one resident
Another resident recalls that a woman was raped in this veld a while ago.
“This place is dangerous and something needs to be done soon,” is the general consensus in the area.
