Op 12 April besoek Lukas Meyer Skool ons en word die eerste wedstryde van die seisoen beslis. Die opgewondenheid was groot, want eindelik kon die spelers wys wat in hulle steek.
Die dag se verrigtinge het in ‘n heerlik ontspanne atmosfeer verloop en goeie sportmanskap het geheers. At the end of the day the results achieved was a reflection of good competition.

(DJS Score first) Netball: u/10: 7 – 8, u/11: 5 – 2, 2nd: 9 – 15 and 1st: 5 – 15. Hockey (girls): u/10: 1 – 2, 2nd: 1 – 5 and 1st: 1 – 4. Rugby: u/9: 12 – 0, u/10: 10 – 5, u/11: 0 – 28, 2nd: 10 – 19 and 1st: 12 – 20.
Hockey first team boys
Well done to the first team hockey boys for doing so well in the Umzinyathi trials. There are nine boys u/12 and u/13 selected to play in a tournament in Pietermaritzburg May 14 – 15. Well done to Michael Bhartu, Henry Bugden, Dihan Bierbaum, Amahle Mdubeki, Sinakho Myeza, Nabeel Amod, Sibusiso Qwabe, Sheylen Pillay and Okuhle Botha. On April 12, DJS took part in the Monument tournament in Ladysmith, the first team Hockey Boys played very well and lost 1 game, draw 2, won 1. Well done boys!

Rugby NKZN trials
The u/12 and u/13 boys from DJS took part in the NKZN trials on April 8 – 9. The competition was tough, but the school is proud of Mundell Brown and Sihawukele Buthelezi who were chosen for the u/13 squad. It is unfortunate however that Mundell Brown will not be able to participate any further because of a serious back injury.
