A woman had just left the office and was about to head home this evening (Tuesday) when she found two men sitting in her car at a local shopping centre.
The two males calmly asked the owner of the vehicle if it was her car and when she replied, “Yes”, they apologised (“Sorry, I think we’re sitting in the wrong car”) and walked away.
When the woman started shouting for help, the men started running in the direction of the hospital.
Fast-acting K9 officers responded rapidly to the calls for help. The officers, together with colleagues from the woman’s place of work, managed to apprehend one of the criminals.
He was in possession of items taken from the vehicle. The second suspect is still at large.
A case of theft out of a motor vehicle was opened at the police station.
