The information led them to the R600 road between Ladysmith and Winterton.
The taxi was stopped and searched. Police discovered two female passengers who, between them, had been transporting 25.9kg of dagga in three bags.
The suspects aged, 24 and 36, were arrested for possession of dagga.
They are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (Wednesday).
The estimated street value of the dagga is around R40,000.
