Traffic on the road by-passing Princess Park (down Connor Street) has increased since road works commenced in Alfred Street.

However, drivers approaching the intersection are faced with a large chunk of damaged road, which makes it difficult to drive over. Approaching motorists are now confronted with vehicles partially or fully blocking off the lane.

“This causes confusion and anger amongst drivers,” commented an Estcourt resident. I can only imagine how dangerous it must be at night when someone may not see it. I urge the municipality to repair it soon,” added the resident.

These sentiments have been relayed to Umtshezi Municipality. The resident also noticed that close to the intersection of Alfred and Connor streets, a section of road is being continuously damaged.

“It has been repaired many times but I have noticed that this particular area is always broken,” commented the resident.

“I’m not an expert when it comes to these things but I can only put it down to poor workmanship,” said the resident.
