TRT officers make arrests for dagga possession

The street value of all the dagga is estimated to be around R7000

Two suspects were arrested and dagga recovered on Thursday afternoon after Ladysmith Tactical Response Team (TRT) officers working in the Tsakane area received a tip-off that dagga was being sold at a premises in the area.

The officers located the premises and upon searching it, they found 2.4kg of loose dagga stored in a plastic bucket. A 34-year-old suspect was arrested. Further investigation in the area resulted in the arrest of a second suspect, a 26-year-old female.

She was found in possession of 1.2kg of loose dagga.

The street value of all the dagga is estimated to be around R7000.

The suspects appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of dagga.
