A second suspect has been arrested after the body of a teacher was found in a donga in the Wembezi area.
The deceased, 47-year-old Raymond Mabizela of Bergville, was allegedly lured by his 28-year-old girlfriend, Fikelephi Ngubane, to Wembezi. It is then believed that he was kidnapped by a man with whom his girlfriend was having a romantic liaison, and he disappeared.
Mabizela’s decomposed body was found covered by a carpet in a donga in Wembezi.
A case of murder and kidnapping was opened at Wembezi police station.
Following a thorough investigation by detectives, the second suspect, Fikelephi Ngubane, has been arrested.
She appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court and the case was remanded until May 6 for a bail application.
