Three suspects have been arrested after attacking security guards and setting their vehicle alight on Sunday.
Sometime after midnight on Sunday, May 1, four security guards were attacked by a group of people in the Bergville area.
From information currently available, it is alleged that the group stoned the security vehicle and assaulted the guards.
The motive for the attack is still unclear.
The guards drove to the police station for assistance and after stopping their vehicle near the police station, four assailants set the vehicle alight. Bergville police intervened and arrested three of the four suspects.
The suspects, two aged 22 and one aged 26, appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of malicious damage to property.
Police are still looking for the fourth suspect.
