Role players meet to look for solutions to ongoing taxi war

High-powered meeting to discuss taxi violence

The Department of Transport is hosting a meeting today (Friday) between major players in ongoing taxi wars in the area.

Taxi wars involving at least four clans have killed close to 100 people in little over two years.

Several taxi hit-men have appeared in court in recent months linked to the ongoing violence.

The biggest single incident, the so-called ‘October 11 Massacre’, sent shock waves throughout the province.
