A VRYHEID Neighbourhood Watch meeting recently brought to light some favourable news for patrolling members.
Last Thursday evening, after several months of suspense regarding the issue of the implementation of green lights on patrolling vehicles, it was announced that Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch will now have permission from both RTI and the Municipal Traffic Department to make use of static, non-flashing green lights when doing their nightly patrols, with immediate effect. Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch patrolling members will welcome this decision, now that their vehicles will have some form of visible identification when on patrol.
Neighbourhood Watch would like to thank Col Westermeyer for his assistance in this regard. Westermeyer pointed out the good work Neighbourhood Watch has done and that they are assisting the police in their work.
