Mbuyiseni Ngema wins again as 17 runners record personal bests at Vryheid parkrun.
Mbuyiseni Ngema claimed another first-place finish at this weekend’s Vryheid parkrun, completing the course in an excellent time of 18:34.
First-timer Nikki McGowan was the first female finisher.
17 runners record new PBs
Despite the misty conditions, participants turned out in good numbers, with 17 runners recording new personal best times.
The new personal bests were achieved by Samuel, Mzweynsizwa, Wayne, Elani, Sugandren, Hendrik, Mia, Sonja, Sithembumusa, Ane, Elisma, Zanichka, Christoff, Mac, Ngimphiwe, Chantelle and Marietta.
200th parkrun milestone
The event also marked a special milestone for Hennie de Bruin, who completed his 200th parkrun event.
Organisers thanked the women who took part in the Women’s Month celebrations throughout August, as well as the men for their continued support.
Spring celebrations ahead
With August coming to an end, participants can look forward to warmer weather and a number of fun runs and races in September.
The next parkrun will also include a colourful celebration of spring, with participants encouraged to wear something colourful.
