Siblings face murder charges after brutal fight

Detectives arrested four suspects in connection with the murder, a male and three females aged between 40 and 51

Police are investigating a case of murder after a domestic dispute escalated into a brutal fight at a residence in the Mbuzweni area of Peactown in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Two brothers were severely assaulted by their siblings. The brothers were later admitted to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital, where one of the two men died a short while later.

Police were notified and a case docket was opened for investigation.

Officers attached to the Ladysmith Detective Service Centre – working under the instruction of their commander, Captain AH Ramlagan – immediately went out to the scene.

They arrested four suspects in connection with the murder, a male and three females aged between 40 and 51. The suspects appeared  in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Friday), facing charges of murder and attempted murder.

The deceased has not yet been officially identified.
