Arnold Goettsch (45) who was shot four times during a farm attack near Hattingspruit on Monday evening has been transferred to Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban.
His condition was described as critical but stable. His brother, Alko (54), was shot in the leg when four men attacked the brothers at Wild Duck Vlei farm.
The suspects took the pair to the farm residence and tied up sisters, Karen (48) and Metta (51). The suspects then demanded that they reveal and open the safe. When the victims said there is no safe, shots were fired. The two sisters were also beaten.
Arnold’s Hi Lux vehicle was stolen. No arrests have been made at this stage. Arnold was able to respond to family at his bedside in Madadeni Hospital. A prayer circle has been formed to pray for his recovery.
