Abandoned firearms recovered in Bergville

The recovery consisted of two 9mm pistols, a shotgun, two magazines and an air rifle

Members who are part of the Uthukela Cluster Intervention Team were working in the Bergville area and recovered four abandoned firearms on Sunday, June 12.

The group of police officers are from various Public Order Police (POP) units in KwaZulu-Natal and the National Intervention Unit (NIU) from Durban. The firearms were found in the Stulwane area of Bergville.

The recovery consisted of two 9mm pistols, a shotgun, two magazines and an air rifle. The firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to determine if they were used to commit a crime anywhere in the country.
