In the early hours of yesterday (Thursday) morning, a 32-year-old man was arrested in the Gcinalishona area of Mhlumayo, Ezakheni, for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Public Order Policing (POP) officers were following up on information when they pounced on the man’s residence and surprised the suspect.
A 9mm pistol and a .38 revolver were recovered by the officers. The revolver was loaded with ammunition.
The accused is due to make an appearance in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court today (Friday).
He faces charges of being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
