Update: ANC saddened by shooting

"We call upon the law to play its role and find the perpetrators"

The ANC in the Ukhahlamba region are saddened by the recent shooting of Comrade David Muzi Mazibuko, popularly known as Cde Mdavu.

“Cde Mdavu is currently the ward candidate for the ANC in Sisonke branch ward 15 and this incident happened only a few days before the local government elections.

“As the region, we wish Cde Mdavu a speedy recovery and commit to supporting family, friends and the community throughout the ordeal.

“We call upon the law to play its role and find the perpetrators. However, while the investigation continues, we call on all ANC members, friends and community members to allow the law to take its course.

“This incident should unite the region even more and demands from all of us to work even harder as one of the most dedicated and hardworking comrades is hospitalised. We must not be deterred, nor should we despair.

“As revolutionaries, we have no option but to soldier on,” said ANC Ukhahlamba Regional Secretary Cde Sipho Hlomuka.
