Lovers Whatsapp quarrel leads to murder

BLOOD was spilled and a life was lost when a dispute broke out between a married couple over Whatsapp on Thursday last week.

According to a report received from the SAPS, the argument started when the husband Victor Mlambo used a photo of a woman he later confirmed to be his sister as his profile photo on Whatsapp. The action seems to have drawn displeasure from his wife, MG Mlambo, who is said to have put an unknown gentleman up as her profile photo as a counter-blow.

An angry Mr Mlambo returned home and confiscated her phone saying that he would use it as evidence to prove that she was seeing another man.
Infuriated by her husband’s actions, MG is said to have taken his car keys telling him that he would not get them back until returned her phone.

After a heated argument, Mr Mlambo is said to have lost his temper, taking out his gun and firing four shots at his wife before handing himself over to the police.

He was taken into custody the same day and made his first appearance in court on Friday, July 8. He has since been released on bail as family members said that he had to see to the arrangements of his wife’s funeral.
He was charged with murder and his case has been moved to July 14 while the SAPS investigates.
