This is the second shooting of an ANC ward candidate in the area in the space of two weeks

With the recent sad passing of ANC candidate Cde Khanyisile Ngobese-Sibisi, the ANC called for a media briefing about the incident today (Wednesday).
Comrade Khanyisile was attacked by unknown gunmen on Mandela Day (Monday) while she was in Acaciavale to deliver blankets to elderly people with regards to the ’67 Minutes for Mandela Day’.
She was attacked at about 2.30pm after a door-to-door campaign in Ward 20.
“Khanyi was a hard worker, educator and a loving person who ran a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that fed the needy. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm and her bright personality,” said Sipho Hlomuka, Regional Secretary of the ANC.
This is the second shooting of an ANC ward candidate in the area in the space of two weeks.
A memorial service for Cde Khanyisile will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at the Civic Hall, beginning at 2pm.
