“A team of five or so locals will cycle for charity through the Lions Club. I’m doing the whole distance, and need sponsors and community support.”
The team of cyclists and seconds is comprised of Calvin Greenslade, Allan Villiers, Sandy and Simon Mostert, Tracy Barends, Jennifer Beeslaar and the Forbes family: Norman, Lynsey and Caiden. They set off from Melo’s Pub and Grill every Sunday, come rain or shine.
“We go out as a team every weekend. Some train a few times a week, while others go for spinning classes,” explained Mr Villiers.
Courtney explained her efforts at the Amashova would raise funds for the Lions Club’s elderly aid project and other initiatives, plus for sport development among local children. The elderly will be assisted with vouchers to help ease their living.
