MLS celebrates Mandela Day

The first visit was undertaken to Shepstone Place where learners entertained the senior citizens with speeches of Mandela as well as songs

After much preparation, ML Sultan Estcourt Primary educators and learners celebrated Mandela Day on July 18.

The first visit was undertaken to Shepstone Place where learners entertained the senior citizens with speeches of Mandela as well as songs in his praise. A big thank you to Hyperzone for donating a lovely cake which was served at tea time. The school wishes to also thank Debbie and staff for all their assistance.

A visit to the Estcourt Animal Shelter
A few learners also accompanied educators to the Estcourt Animal Shelter. Learners were shown a variety of cats and dogs.
Canned food and dog chunks were donated by the school and members of staff.

A visit to the Estcourt Provincial Hospital
A team of educators and learners visited the Paediatric Ward at Estcourt Provincial Hospital. Our sincere gratitude to the Al-Imdaad Foundation for sponsoring juice and bananas. Educators also gave the children colouring booklets, colour pencils, crayons and clothes. Our appreciation goes to the Public Relations Officer Zandile Mngomezulu and Matron Adam for allowing us this visit. The admin staff visited Ms Sukai in honour of Mandela Day. Educators and learners also conducted a clean-up campaign. The aim was to clean up the grounds and brighten up the ladies room with a fresh coat of paint.Educators also distributed clothes to learners.
