NEWCASTLE – Susan Briscoe is distraught after all four of her dogs died this morning.

“They were fine when I woke up to take my children to school. A while later I realised something was wrong and all of a sudden they were dead,” said an emotional Mrs Briscoe.
She immediately called a family friend for help, believing the dogs had been poisoned.

“I noticed they were just laying there as if they were paralysed, then they started foaming from the mouth.Why would anyone want to harm and kill my pet babies? They were the sweetest dogs and they would never hurt anyone.”
Mrs Briscoe said she and her family had moved home about two weeks ago, and the single mother was frightened someone might have targeted her home.
“This is devastating for me. How am I going to explain to my children where their dogs are when they get home from school?”
Although it is not yet confirmed whether the dogs were poisoned or not, Heather Gero of the Newcastle SPCA said residents needed to be wary of strange items lying around their yards, which could be indicative of poisoning.
“If anyone suspects their pets might have been poisoned, they need to get their pets to the vet as soon as possible, as it could possibly save the pets life,” Mrs Gero concluded.
