Tears of joy replace the tears of despair
Mayor Mbatha, expressed his gratitude to all individuals who had supported the mission
Tears of joy were shed after a rescue mission came to the aid of the Ntanzi family whose home was destroyed by a strong wind.
Bongekile Ntanzi’s humble home on Sunshine farm, on the Nquthu road, was virtually torn asunder last month.
Her plight was brought to the attention of the Endumeni Municipality’s Disaster Management who in turn contacted Mayor, Richard Mbatha.
From there the mission came together thanks to local businesses, including Soqhaka & Sons and The Lan, representatives of which recently visited the Ntanzi home.
Building material, clothes, blankets and food parcels were all donated to the family. A single parent, Mrs Ntanzi, was reduced to tears when she saw the donations being unpacked for her.
She said she is truly grateful for all the contribution’s that she and her family had received and added that it would significantly assist her while she is waiting to rebuild her house.
Mayor Mbatha, expressed his gratitude to all individuals who had supported the mission.
“I really appreciate all the contributions given to ensure that Mama Ntanzi has a stable home with her family.
“I hope that we can work together in the future and help others,” Mayor Mbatha added. He encouraged local business owners to ‘continue contributing to social interventions in ensuring that the lives of poverty-stricken families are enhanced.’
Sfundo, from Soqhaka & Sons, also said he was touched by the situation of the family and decided to assist.
“With the little that we have, we contributed. I urge the local businesses to stand together and assist those who are in need,” he told the Courier.
The Municipality has urged those who can further assist the family to contact the disaster management office.
