PREVIEW: Municipal finances in shambles

NEWCASTLE is in the midst of a financial crisis.

In an exclusive interview with Mayor, Makhosini Nkosi this week, he explained why the new budget was now unfunded.

Cllr Nkosi also indicated events usually sponsored by the municipality would all be reviewed, and cut down on where necessary.

“Maybe now it’s time to start with a zero budget.”
