Learner injured, schools damaged in storm

The roof of the classroom was blown off and hit a water tank, causing more damage

Two schools in the Uitval area were damaged when a storm struck on Thursday afternoon (November 17).

The storm hit at about 5pm, damaging a classroom at Emahlekwane Primary School. The roof of the classroom was blown off and hit a water tank, causing more damage.

The library and toilets at Dumangobuhle Primary School were also damaged.

A learner was injured and had to be hospitalised.

Some residents’ homes were also affected.

Neighbouring shops were battered about and some blown away by the gale-force wind.
