Local rugby star goes to Dubai for 7s tournament

17-year-old Sibongiseni Mncube has been chosen for the Vision Sport Mauritius 7s Dream Tour, which will see him taking part in the Emirates Airline U/19 Dubai Sevens Rugby Tournament from December 2 to 4.

The tournament will take place at The Sevens Arena in Dubai.

Having formerly attended Ladysmith High School (LHS), Sibongiseni moved to Creston College because of his outstanding rugby skills. He is currently completing his Grade 11 at Creston.

Born in Ladysmith, Sibongiseni says he has made many friends due to his passion for playing rugby.

“I am determined to be a great rugby player one day and perhaps even go international. It’s a very social sport and you get to meet lots of like-minded individuals along the way,” says Sibongiseni.

Teams from all over the world are invited to compete in the Emirates Airline U/19 Dubai Sevens Rugby Tournament. However, the competition is limited to 16 international U/19 teams taking part.

Sibongiseni’s parents are super proud of his achievements so far and wish him everything of the very best at the tournament.

They fully support his sporting vision and his dreams for the future.
