Update: Mayor’s son set to appear in court

Family members claim that the charges are untrue and that police have a vendetta against the Madlala family

25-year-old Ndodo Madlala will appear in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court today (November 23) for a formal bail application.

He faces charges of murder and attempted murder related to a crime that was committed on June 7 last year.

At about 8pm on the day in question, Kwanele Gamede (20) was shot and killed in Ezakheni E-Section near Sakhelwe School. It is alleged that he was with his girlfriend when they were attacked.

Kwanele’s girlfriend was wounded but survived the attack.

Family members have expressed outrage on social media concerning the way young Ndodo Madlala’s case is being handled. Family members claim that the charges are untrue and that police have a vendetta against the Madlala  family.
