2. If you have to go, you have to go

While many people know Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the moon, what they might not know is that Buzz Aldrin was the first man to urinate on the moon shortly after landing on the moon’s surface.

3. Real life Smurfs

The Smurfs have captured the hearts of several children and adults alike, but did you know there was once a real family of blue skinned people? The Fulgate family of Troublesome Creek lived in Kentucky for many generations and apparently acquired their blue skin through combination of inbreeding and a rare genetic condition known as methemoglobinemia.

4. Glowing terrors

Scorpions are creatures that can strike fear into even the most braves, but don’t worry too much about them sneaking up on you at night. For some unexplainable reason, scorpions glow in the dark.

5. Sloths the ultimate slouch

Sloths are known for their slow movement, but did you know they are so laid back that it takes two weeks for their food to digest?

6. You simply do not walk to Mordor

For all the Lord of the Rings fans, the dark region of Pluto’s moon Charon is named Mordor. Just goes to show you, one does not simply walk to Mordor.
