The grade R learners of St Gregory Primary School, all attired in their gowns, hats and sashes, couldn’t wait for the BIG EVENT to commence.
Mrs Wortmann welcomed the honoured guests and their proud parents to our Annual Graduation and Book Prize Ceremony on Friday, November 25.
Sarah Hume proceeded to say the “Blessing”, followed by Ziyanda Gamede who prayed for all present. Our Special Speaker, Mr Jansen, delivered an inspiring yet thought provoking speech, directed at the most important people – learners of the pre-primary. Collins Bere thanked Mr Jansen and then proceeded to hand over a token of gratitude to Mr Jansen.
Grade RRR received their book prizes from Mrs Wortmann, Ms Schultz and Mrs Matthews. Mrs Wortmann praised each learner for their amazing progress. Grade RR duly received their book prizes from Mrs Wortmann, Mrs Matthews and Ms Schultz, praising the Grade RR learners for their sterling work this year.
Mrs Howard and Miss Potgieter handed over the Graduation Certificates and Book Prizes to the Grade R learners, praising them for being such an amazing group and trust they will carry on the excellent work in grade one.
The Grade R’s then handed the “Lamp of Learning” to the incoming grade R learners. This took the form of golden candles. The Ceremony concluded with the National Anthem being sung by all present.
The parents were then invited to the Pre-Primary Department where they were given their child’s final report for 2016.
With this in mind, we thanked the parents for their amazing support throughout the year and wish them a Merry Christmas and successful 2017.
