Windsor Grade 9 learners prepare for Cape Town competition
The Grade 9s won a robotics and coding competition in Durban and will now represent KZN in Cape Town.
Windsor Secondary School is proud of its Grade 8 and Grade 9 learners who participated in a robotics and coding competition in Durban last month. The Grade 9s emerged victorious, winning a laptop and trophies for their outstanding achievement. The Grade 8s came fourth.
The Grade 9s are now preparing to travel to Cape Town, where they will represent KwaZulu-Natal in the next stage of the competition.
Educators express their pride
Their teachers, Miss Zulu and Mr Suklal, expressed excitement and pride in the learners’ success.
Zulu said, “Considering that the learners had less than a week to prepare, winning is a huge accomplishment. We are extremely proud of them.”
Suklal added that the achievement was a very exciting moment for Windsor Secondary School and they are incredibly proud of the learners. “Congratulations to our talented learners. Windsor wishes them all the best as they represent KZN in Cape Town.”
Inspiring the next generation of innovators
The competition gave the pupils an opportunity to apply their knowledge of robotics and coding in a practical setting. Their success demonstrates what young people can achieve when they are encouraged to explore technology, embrace challenges and work together towards a common goal.
The achievement also serves as an inspiration to other Windsor learners, showing that determination, teamwork and a passion for learning can open doors to exciting opportunities.
