Update: Electricity problem at water works still not solved
uThukela engineers are working hard to get the bulk water works back up and running

The electricity problem at the Ezakheni Water Works has not been resolved as yet.
This comes after lightning struck the plant during the heavy storm that was experienced on Wednesday evening (December 7).
According to uThukela communications officer Jabulani Mkhonza, Eskom is currently fixing its side of the problem, while uThukela engineers are working hard to get the bulk water works back up and running.
“We are hoping the matter will be resolved by midday today. Apologies for any inconvenience caused,” said Mkhonza.
The Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant supplies over 250,000 homes, which has resulted in residents being without water since last night. Unfortunately, water tankers cannot be dispatched, as there is nowhere to fill them up, says uThukela.
