Update: Electricity problem solved
The plant is now fully operational
The electricity problem at the Ezakheni Water Works has been resolved.
This comes after lightning struck the plant during the heavy storm that was experienced on Wednesday evening (December 7).
The plant is now fully operational. The uThukela team, together with the service provider, are doing close monitoring. They are filling up the internal storage facilities at the plant and should be pumping to the reservoirs in about 30 minutes from now.
Lower areas of Ezakheni will start receiving water at around 9pm and upper areas by tomorrow morning, should they not experience any challenges.
