The green, green grass of Northern KZN is back

This is far easier on the eye that the tinder brown fields...

The two-year drought has taken it’s toll on man, beast and on the land.  Town residents have had to cope with water cuts of up to 15 hours  a day as Umzinyathi District Municipality attempts to save water.  Endumeni and Nquthu are totally reliant on water from the Buffalo River – released from Chelmsford dam up until the recent rains – as the dams have dried up and are unusable.

The good news for farmers is that the recent rains have greatly improved grazing and the once tinder brown grass has given away to lush green fields which are far easier on the eye.
