Police seek family of unidentified man found in Dundee dam

Police have asked the public locate the family of unidentified man found in a farm dam.

Dundee police are appealing to the community for help in identifying a man whose body was found floating in a dam at a Cotswold farm.

Community members discovered the body in the dam in the Dundee policing precinct and alerted police.

SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Siyabonga Nkwanyana said the body was already in an advanced state of decomposition when it was found, making identification difficult.

The man is believed to have been between 30 and 35 years old and approximately 1.7m tall.

He was wearing three jerseys – two grey and one green with yellow lines – as well as black trousers.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have a family member reported missing who matches the description to come forward.

“Anyone with information that could assist the police in identifying the deceased or locating his relatives is urged to come forward,” said Nkwanyana.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Constable Nosipho Ngubeni on 060 740 3967 or Dundee police station on 034 299 9700.
