Boat owners commended at annual inspection
Thirty-two boat owners braved the cold weather for their boats to be inspected.
ON the very cold Saturday, November 25, Vryheid Boating Club’s Annual Boat Inspection and general meeting was held at the club house at Bloemveld Dam.
Thirty-two boat owners braved the cold weather for their boats to be inspected. Surveyor, Johan de Jager, commended the boat owners for the general good condition of their boats.
After the inspection, club members came together for the general meeting and year end function, with a Bring-and-Braai.
The Commodore’s Floating Trophy was awarded to Michaelis Schule to thank them for their much appreciated support and renovations to the club house and premises.

We look forward working with them again next year for their Michaelis Challenge.
The committee would like to wish Jannie Roos a prosperous retirement from work, as well as from his position as Commodore of the club.
Thank you, Jannie and Elna Brits (secretary), for your valuable input and hard work for many years, keeping the club afloat. Jannie and Elna will still be part of the committee, as they have only retired from their positions as commodore and secretary of the Club.

Congratulations, Lukas and Dalene Marais, who were elected to fill these positions.
Thank you to the committee members for your hard work, as always, in the past year. We look forward to new challenges in 2018.
Good luck to Nicci and Coralea Potgieter, who will be emigrating at the end of the year. We are going to miss you.
With Bloemveld Dam’s rising water level, we would like to invite the public to enjoy our neatly kept premises with their family and friends.
We also have camping facilities with electricity and warm showers.
