PARADISE – 22 Grade Five and Six learners from St Dominic’s Academy Newcastle participated in the 20th National Science Olympiad.
Here, General and Natural Science knowledge beyond the Caps document is tested.

Five learners, namely Simone Gossman, Thaba-Jan Ntjobokoane, Kiash Sookoo, Mofenyi Kubheka and Erich van Zyl, achieved silver certificates.
Siblings, Suhaan and Dia Singh received gold certificates for achieving results higher than 80 per cent.
Suhaan went on to the KwaZulu-Natal round in the Grade Six group, and out of 945 participants, made the top 12 in the country.
Dia reached the top 30 in the Grave Five group out of 943 learners nationwide.
Suhaan was invited to the National Awards Ceremony in Pietermaritzburg – congratulations to Suhaan and his fellow learners on their fine achievements.
They have made St Dominic’s proud.
