Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality under the championship of Mayor Jabulile Mbele staged a series of social cohesion programmes to forge relations and social justice among its communities.

The main purpose of these events is to make sure that during the festive season people from different levels of the community, young and old come together to celebrate the end-of-year festivities.  Amid activities that were featured during this period were soccer tournaments, an Ingoma festival, Iscathamiya and gospel festival.

The community was appreciative that all codes were acknowledged. The end-of-year soccer tournaments seek to allow all soccer teams to compete in their respective zones.  Teams were clustered according to the following sections: Weenen, Cornfields and Thembalihle, Loskop and Ntabamhlophe.

24 teams participated at the Ntabamhlophe section and Manchester United defeated D Aces in the final by an odd goal to be crowned champions. In the Loskop section, the final was contested by Jampers FC and Shakes. Jumpers FC were crowned champions.

In the Weenen section, KFC caused an upset when they became overall winners by defeating ROC FC during the much-anticipated final on December 29.  Skills displayed during this tournament mesmerised the spectators who filled the playing field to capacity.
