Buffalo River overflows in parts

Welcome relief following dousing summer rains

The  Buffalo River which only 12 months ago stopped flowing is now overflowing in parts.  Photographs submitted by Cheryl Hesom show the river in full force and bursting its banks.

Endumeni is totally reliant on water pumped from the Buffalo River for its water supply after the dam water became unusable during the severe drought.

Temperatures have plummeted with a maximum of 19 degrees predicted for today, Tuesday. This morning the mercury rose only to nine degrees.  The weatherman believes things will warm up by Thursday with a maximum of 32 degrees predicted.
