Matriculating at Kwaphaykeni (Watersmeet) High School with four distinctions, Mfanelo Mkhize comes from a disadvantaged family, resulting in him not having the required funds to further his studies.
Mr SH Zikalala, who is the principal of the school, approached the Klipriver Taxi Association and asked if they could please donate money towards the matriculant’s registration fees.
Mfabelo applied to study Mechanical Engineering and was accepted at the University of KwaZula-Natal, Pietermaritzburg.
After pleading for donations, the taxi association came to the rescue.
The aspiring mechanical engineer was handed a cheque today (January 27) that will go towards his registration fees.
Speaking on behalf of the family and Mfanelo, Vuysile Hadebe expressed gratitude to the association for their tremendous assistance. “I would like to thank the Klipriver Taxi Association for what they have done to ensure that Mfanelo will be able to make his way to university to further his studies,” said Vuyisile.
