Paramedics treat injured learners at Ladysmith sports ground

Many children fell victim to sporting injuries and also dehydration while taking part in the sporting events of the day

Sharaj Ambulance Services rushed out to a local school yesterday (January 27) to treat learners who were suffering from dehydration, cuts to noses, breathing problems and muscle injuries.

The learners had been taking part in athletics and evidently there was no first aid or medical attention available at the sports event.

Schoolchildren from different schools in and around Ladysmith participated in track and field events.

It is believed that many children fell victim to sporting injuries and also dehydration.

Sharaj paramedics arrived at the scene and quickly stabilised the children in need of medical attention.

The injured were then transported to hospital for further treatment.
