MINOR accidents over the weekend left one with moderate injuries and several vehicles damaged.
January 27 saw one motorist being transported by KwaZulu Private Ambulance to Vryheid Provincial Hospital after an overtaking maneuver at the speedbumps in Scheepersnek went horribly wrong.
The driver of a Golf was allegedly traveling too fast to slow down in time when the bus ahead of him slacked off as it approached the speedbumps, according to a report by JVS Towing and Recovery’s Chris Marais. The Golf is believed to have been attempting to overtake, but was surprised by oncoming traffic and veered back into the rear end of the bus.
In a separate incident on January 29, the occupants of three vehicles escaped without major injury after a three-car fender-bender at the Blood River crossing.
