Hospital security guards back to work
The dispute seems to have since been settled as the workers did receive the money they were demanding by Friday.

THINGS started off on a rather bad note at Vryheid Hospital on Wednesday morning last week as the Ilanga Security guards went on strike.
The guards, who refused to start working until the bonuses they were supposed to get had been paid, boycotted their work and stood in protest at the hospital gates.
Management informed the workers that they could expect to start getting the bonus money by Friday, January 27, but also stated clearly that this would be some and not all of them. The rest will be paid as time goes on.
The Ilanga employees seemed unfazed by this remark and said that only an SMS notification saying that their money had been deposited would let them set foot in the hospital.
The dispute seems to have since been settled as the workers did receive the money they were demanding by Friday.
“We were not in any way trying to be difficult, we all love our jobs, the only thing that we wanted was for our employer to do right by us as was initially agreed. Now that the money has been paid, it is back to work as usual for all of us,” the security guards said.
